To paint is my way of analysing and understanding the world. My themes are always derived from everyday experiences and impressions. In my paintings I explore topics like movement, energy, contrast and the mystery of emotions. I am interested in how they interconnect into body language as the true expression of the individual.

POWER AND PASSION

Date : October 2, 2012

This is my first joint exhibition together with my father Ivan Minekov in the UK!

I have carried on my father’s sculptural artistic tradition which has inspired me stylistically, especially its elongated forms, sense of balance, and sense of space, and translated it into my paintings. He has taught me to add dimension and an extra layer of depth to my work. The Undercurrents series has even been described as ‘monumental’.  I have taken his teaching and used it to express my own inner, feminine world to the public through my art.

Sofia Gallery, Bulgarian Cultural Institute, Bulgarian Embassy
188 Queen’s Gate, London SW7
Date: 2 October – 16 October 2012
Opening Times: Monday-Friday 9am – 6pm

The exhibition will display more than a dozen sculptures and over twenty paintings and prints. http://facebook.com/power.passion.art
